Kyungman Nam (the “Developer”) designed Smart Gadgets and Smart Gadgets Receiver around data minimization and local processing.
Data collected by the Developer
The Developer does not collect personal information or usage data through Smart Gadgets. Smart Gadgets has no account, advertising, cross-app tracking, analytics SDK, crash-reporting SDK, or developer-operated input relay server.
Processing between your devices
Touch, key, and gesture commands from iPhone are transmitted to the Smart Gadgets Receiver on the Mac you select. The connection is encrypted over the same local network or an app-to-app Bluetooth LE link. Input is not sent to or stored on a Developer server.
Pairing can use a device name, device identity, and security keys. App preferences are stored in UserDefaults, while device identity and pairing trust are stored locally in Apple Keychain on each device.
Camera
Camera access is used only to scan the pairing QR invitation shown by Mac Receiver. Smart Gadgets does not save or transmit camera photos or video.
Local Network and Bluetooth
Local Network supports Bonjour discovery and direct connection. Bluetooth supports the fallback app-to-app BLE link and does not register iPhone as Bluetooth HID hardware.
Retention and deletion
Use Forget Saved Mac to remove a trust relationship. Operating-system app data controls can reset local settings.
macOS Accessibility
When authorized, Receiver uses public CGEvent APIs to post pointer, scroll, key, and shortcut input. It does not log input content or send it to the Developer.
Third parties and tracking
Smart Gadgets does not sell or disclose user data and does not track users across apps or websites owned by other companies. If processing changes, the app, website, and App Store disclosures will be updated.
Website and Receiver download
The hosting provider may process limited delivery metadata such as IP address, request time, requested path, and browser information as part of normal website delivery. This metadata is not linked to Smart Gadgets touch or keyboard input. The same delivery metadata can apply to a Receiver DMG download.
